There’s always something going on at our hotel. Both in front of and behind the scenes, exciting, funny, wild and sometimes even bizarre things happen. We are happy to share our ideas and stories with you, even if we sometimes wish no one had heard or seen them.

Staff-Ski-Race
On Monday, 18.03.24, the staff ski and sledge race took place on the Tschentenalp in Adelboden. From the Mariokart friends to baked potatoes, there were various costumes, which also earned points. Our team could be recognized by their bathrobes and turbans, while rags or loofah sponges served as ski poles. At the end of the day, it didn't really matter which company won the race.
If the weather is stormy, ski training takes place at Adler Adelboden
On Sunday, the weather was so stormy that the cable cars were only able to decide in mid-morning whether to open or close for the rest of the day. We had the pleasure of meeting various ski clubs in the Adler for coffee or in the Lollypop.
Each day is different! #hotellerierockt
When Bruno from Crazy Sports Ltd. celebrates his birthday...
If you find Bruno from Crazy Sports Ltd. with a Cervelat over our fire bowl, surrounded by his loved ones, it could well be that he is celebrating his birthday. We wish him all the best!
A promise is a promise
Our chef, Natascha Widmer, once said during the winter that she would only sign a contract extension if she got socks with host Mathias Fankhauser's face on them. As you can see, she has since signed...
Tap water - the precious resource
Many people worldwide still do not have secure access to clean drinking water. We are aware of the fact, that having water as a natural and abundant resource as we do in Adelboden, is of great privilege.
This is why we have been donating since winter 2021 to potable water projects of “Drink&Donate” and “Viva con agua” for each sold liter of tap water. In that time, over CHF 16'000 has been collected through us and our guests, which supplies in Uganda, for example, up to 800 school children including their teachers with clean potable water.
Go ahead and read it for yourself - Our boss Karin interviewed by Fabian from Viva con agua:
Missed out on Wine & Dine?
Did you miss the Wine & Dine of the Donnstig Znacht series on September 7, 2023?
Andy Varonier, 3rd generation manager of the family-run winery Caesar Varonier & Söhne in Varon (VS), accompanied us on Thursday evening, 07.09.23, with charm and wine through the evening.
The evening menu was a feast and the wines selected by Andy the perfect accompaniment.
We discussed and philosophized until late in the evening - thank you very much for this wonderful time.
Who would like to be there again when we organize a relaxed wine evening with a treat for the palate, or missed this time; do not despair - the Wine & Dine events for next year are already in planning.
Mountain Love within the A-Team
It doesn't take much; just a little sunshine and a work schedule to match and employees and chiefs are greeting each other from various peaks in the morning and/or the evening.

Annina shows how it's done!
Annina Mani has graduated as a hospitality specialist with a federal certificate in proficiency with top marks - we are insanely proud of her!
What makes us even more happy: She has come to stay! Annina will continue to be part of the A-Team and enrich us further with her cheerfulness.
Great job Annina, keep it up!
When I grow up, I'm going to work in the hospitality sector....
Little Mathias once said, “When I grow up, I'm going to be a hotelier. Technology is not my thing”
Mathias, 37, and the start of the season as a hotelier.
Creative minds in the kitchen
In order that the dessert buffet on Sunday evening for our half-board guests shines in the right splendor, our breakfast chef, Luis, has come up with a special arrangement of berries.
Spirits training with Urs Hecht
What does Vieille Prune actually go with? And how is the apple spirit served?
To coincide with the reopening on Thursday, May 25, 2023, our service team received training from Urs Hecht on various spirits. So that even those who had never tasted Kirsch now know how it tastes and what it goes with. A big degustation took place, the service staff diligently took notes and the training was concluded with a great round of questions. One of the highlights was probably the tasting of the spirits named after his children, which are not available in our hotel.
Cake and receptionists - a love story
The fact that someone from the team brings cake, chocolates or croissants is already very "common" at our reception, and yet it is an event every time, where sometimes hard guns are fought for the last piece.
